I just finished reading the Lowell ledger and something occurred to me. Between citizens of Lowell, workers of Lowell, previous workers, and now elected officials from other counties not to many people like, or worst, trust the current city manager of Lowell, Mark Howe. Why is he trying to keep "his" new city government so quiet and secluded from the citizens? Why is he misinforming the council? Why is he pushing an unfair contract on our workers? Why did we even hire him in the first place? I hope more people speak out about what is coming to light and our city council does something about it!

From a HR managers point of view I feel for our city workers and from a citizens point of view I now worry about our city's fate. Today's Lowell Ledger article about the workers gave a compelling argument disputing the council's claim that it is against the law for them to get involved along with the first letter to editor disproving the necessity of these "closed door meetings". And finally the second letter to editor seems to show the true character of Mark Howe, the current city manager. How is it that our city council doesn't know the law regarding city personnel policy or close door meetings or contract negotiations? Don't they every question this city manager or just believe every word he says?
I also want to thank Barbra from Saranac for writing her letter to editor about what type of person our new city manager truly is, thank you.

I heard about the meeting where Barbra spoke and it is eerie how Judge O'Connor's remarks within his court ruling echo almost exactly what Barbra tried to warn us about. How can so many different people be seeing these characteristics in Mr. Howe but none of the City Council can. Have they been so brainwashed by him that they are totally blind to the reality? I think Mr. Howe is a very nice person as long as you don't defy his authority. He seems very narcissistic and I wonder if he really is unable to see things from anyone else's point of view. I can give him the benefit of the doubt but I really question what's happened to the city council members. Why is it that every one of them is so willing to listen to ONE man over now probably hundreds of other people who are seeing through him? Very disconcerting. Maybe it really is time for fresh eyes on the City Council. I've changed my mind--my votes goes to Jeff Altoft and Matt Mayer. And I think I'm unwilling to give them any more power till there is a change in attitude--My vote is NO on all 3 proposals!
