I want to thank you for finally admitting mistakes. It isn't easy and it's just being human. I've been mistaken many times, for example you corrected me in my post "please read". Thank you. Another mistake I and many other rate payers have done is not being more involved. As you have stated, there have been little to no public input for a considerable amount of time. Shame on us for not taking the initiative for becoming more involved.
To be honest, many of us wouldn't even be involved in this if it wasn't for us wanting to support the workers and their attempts for a fair contract.
My intent was not to mud sling, and I apologize for becoming slightly irritated in my responses. I, along with the rest of the community just want strait facts and answers. And speaking for myself, I don't want this to become so polarized in our positions.
Back to my point. Thank you admitting that LL&P made mistakes in the investment and eventual decommission of the old generators, the lack of fuel supply, being shut downby MDEQ and the gas compressor. This is good, we are finally getting somewhere.
Now lets just finish this by answering the rest of the questions.
1. This first one is more statement not a question. Being in violation of the planning commission for not having all proper permits. It is really arrogant to say "yes we set the CT's in place, lock us up and throw away the key". We as a society create laws, policies and providers to guide us and our actions. As a government entity (I believe this to be true because you are ultimately under city council control) you are not above the law. Your crude statement referring to the authority of the planning commissions is distasteful. If anything you should be trying to hold a higher standard than the law and setting a standard for the rest of us to follow. I would prefer a statement of "yes, unfortunately due to an over site, we were in violation of the planning commissions rules and in the future we will make every attempt to not make this same mistake. I as chairman of the board would like to apologize for this mistake".
2. Answer Maximgorky's question "And yes Greg Canfield said unequivocally that the Record Eagle got it wrong based on a false premise; that they used the word "termination", however I pointed out by quoting the source that it was clear Greg Pierce was summarily dismissed; that his letter of resignation was a mere formality. So once again Mr. Canfield, armed with this knowledge, why did you hire him?"
3. How much was spent on the two combustion generators? Total cost including shipping construction, engineering, and purchase price. I would also like to know the model year is the IVEX gen. Correct me if I am wrong but the Ford gen. is a 1984? Also you have mentioned that the IVEX is a solar gen, can you elaborate on exactly how it works?
I have some more questions but I'll wait for these answers. Thank you.
