General manager of LL&P caught stealing?

I just read a couple of news paper articles from Traverse City stating Gregg Pierce was caught stealing furniture from Traverse City LL&P after only being in charge for a week and a half! It also says Pierce wanted to raise the electrical rates by 31% in 5 years and was mad at the public when someone question him about the increase! He was reprimanded by the board for scolding the public and made a formal apology for his comments. Why did our LL&P hire him with all that he did in Travers City?
